RIT’s Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies recently received $2 million in new federal funding to advance the efforts of its Defense Modernization and Sustainment Initiative. The initiative assists the U.S. military in modernizing their vehicle fleets while also improving durability and fuel efficiency. read more »

A computer science major, Ken Bielenberg ’87 was able to feed his theatric side by taking film and animation courses at RIT as well. Using skills learned in both disciplines, Ken lead the visual effects teams on the “Shrek” movies and other animated films. read more »

Zack Butler, assistant professor of computer science, is a member of the U.S. Puzzle Team, which earned its tenth team world title championship in 2007. Butler is a practicing cruciverbalist (one who writes crossword puzzles). Many of his puzzles are published in The New York Times. read more »

After completing internships with the FBI, two RIT students hope for careers with the law enforcement agency. Michael Mehltretter (public policy) and Justin Grover (networking, security and systems administration) were two of only three students from New York accepted into the FBI’s prestigious internship program. read more »

More than 500 students participate in RIT’s music program. Providing balance to their rigorous studies, the program’s ensemble groups–RIT Singers, four a cappella groups, RIT Orchestra, RIT Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble, and the World Music Ensemble and World Beat Ensemble–offer students a creative outlet. read more »
